News From Composites Universal Group!
Composites Unlimited is in the midst of many exciting changes that we would like to share with all.
First and foremost, Composites Unlimited Inc. has made the decision, based on our continuing efforts to expand our client base and our abilities to the match the needs of the our universe, to change our name to “Composites Universal Group'. The changing of our name coincides with the many other changes happening here.
Composites Universal Group is growing at a very healthy rate and we are rapidly out growing our facilities. Due to this growth and our continually growing clientele, Composites Universal Group has purchased 6 acres of land in the newly formed Scappoose Aero Business Park located adjacent to the Scappoose airport in Scappoose Oregon. We intend to break ground for our new 50,000 sq ft facility before the end of 2006 and move in early 2007.
Composites Universal Group in an effort to better serve our clients and to help plan a new efficient, state of the art facility, has contracted OMEP of Oregon to assist us in becoming a Lean Manufacturer for composite components and tooling. We are pleased to have already recognized the value in this process and have seen reduction in waste and increase in production after only a few short months. Composites Universal Group has committed to the Lean operating system and looks forward to being able to provide ever increasing services at higher quality levels to all of our clients.
Compsites Universal Group delivers mock-up for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Composites Universal Group has recently delivered the second of two all composite functional mock-ups of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for testing the Auxiliary Power Unit at the Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems facility in San Diego CA. One of these systems will travel to Alaska for icing tests and the other may find it's way to Asia for more testing and marketing.

Composites Universal Group receives FAA Approval
Composites Universal Group has recently become the second of only two companies world wide to have received the Authorization and FAA approval to produce Structural and non-structural parts for Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing Corp. The items produced by Composites Universal Group are used on the Certified Columbia 350 and 400 aircraft.

Composites Universal Group was the vendor of choice to assist Garmin develop the new interior system that was needed when Garmin was awarded the contract to be the new avionics supplier for the Columbia 350 and 400 aircraft. Composites Universal Group was able to do rapid prototyping and tooling to help meet program deadlines and now is producing all of the parts associated with this program. |
